Year 2009 is about to end, and it is also end of the decade, which means it is time for the top lists. It is not only Metallica fans that are deciding their favourite Metallica songs of all time, it is also the Metallica band members that get to make their own favourite songs and albums lists.
Rolling Stone has asked Metallica’s Lars Ulrich and Kirk Hammett on their favourite 25 albums and favourite 25 songs of the decade so here they are.
Both Metallica members have recognized some of their old friends including Alice in Chains, Guns’n'Roses and Motorhead, they also found place for some of their tour supporters like The Sword, Mastodon and Machine Head, but there are also some surprising pop names like Sean Paul and Afroman.

They seem to be trying really hard to get in some mainstream albums. Still, that Motorhead is really good. Too bad they missed out on the Skepticism.

Also how odd theres no mention of megadeth, endgame is , deservedly, on pretty much every metal heads list. You may not like him guys but you cant deny his music is brilliant.
Interesting to see how diverse both their music choices are. Good to see they don’t just listen to the same sort of Shit all the time.
Come on, you guys up there! leave them alone! i mean, all those albums are actually really quite good, and just because ‘The Arctic Monkeys’ and ‘Amy Whinehouse’ is in there list, doesnt mean they are completley off metal! I actually find it interesting the different sorts of music genres they like! actually, I am kinda happy they dont listen to the same crap, otherwise, they would be really boring! (no offence)
