Metallica’s James Hetfield YouTube Comments Backlash

Another Metallica backlash has hit the Internet. This time over a very innocent comment from James Hetfield. James, talking to the audience at the London O2 arena, asked the fans to take away their cameras and enjoy the show.

The story was spread around the Internet yesterday, as another one of Metallica anti-Internet stories, this time as Metallica wants to ban YouTube.

This is the full footage of the comment from James:

In writing:

“I just gotta say something man, put the fucking cameras away, put your phones away. Let’s enjoy the metal show, ok? You can call your mom later, alright? The two second blurb of some shitty Metallica on YouTube is not gonna make you famous, enjoy this moment, alright?”

It just shows how people online speak their own truth, and how easy it is to spread news like these and make the band look bad. Consequences are always there, no matter what, as by the time the correction hits the Internet, it never gains the traction of the initial story.

How come Metallica can’t write anything even remotely as good as Pastor of Muppets? It would’nt be because they lost the influence of two members (Cliff Burton and Dave Mustaine) who accually possessed some talent, would it?

The fact is people grow. In growing you change! Listen to the black album there was no cliff or dave mustaine. Cliff still being in the band would be a god send but he was called on to thrash and rock out the heavens. As an artist you do what moves you, not what moves the fans! If they dont do it for them then there is no reason in doing it. Death Magnetic has sold plenty of copies world wide. People who dont understand them or thier music, I ask you this as a metallica fan dont buy it. Complaining wont do anything. If you dont like it dont buy it. I dont care what they do I as a fan will support them through it all.

Metallica needs to get together with Dave Mustaine again. Maybe then they’ll put out a heavy metal album. Hetfield needs to stop yodeling when he sings. It’s heavy metal for god sacks.

I love it how people always say Davie Boy Mustaine would make Metallica better.

yeah, mmm, yup, that may be a Risk though, and even if you follow these cryptic writings you’ll see that the system has failed, and I am sweating bullets over any youthanasia that may be caused by this!!!!

But I suppose the world (or haters of Metallica) needs a hero, so a tout le monde….

…and get real whilst your at it!!!

If Metallica had stuck with Mustaine then there would have been one ‘alright’ band that lasted a few years instead of two ‘great’ bands that have lasted decades

The facts speak for themselves – mustaine is a nightmare to work with which is why he changes the musicians he works with all the time.

Now stop bitchin and just enjoy the fuckin music that both these leviathans of metal put out!
